NHL: Chicago 4, Florida 0

HELSINKI, Finland, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- Finland native Antti Niemi stopped 23 shots for his first career shutout Saturday in the Chicago Blackhawks' 4-0 NHL win over Florida in Helsinki.

The victory gave the Blackhawks a season-opening two-game split in the NHL's first-ever contests in Finland.

Patrick Kane, Patrick Sharp and Dustin Byfuglien led Chicago, all with a goal and an assist.

Brian Campbell (power play) also scored, while Brent Seabrook added two assists.

Goalkeeper Tomas Vokoun made 29 saves on 33 shots, a day after he made 52 saves for the Panthers in a 4-3 shoot-out victory.

Chicago went 3-for-5 on the power play and Florida was 0-for-3 with the man-advantage.
