NEW YORK, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- Fernando Tatis hit a key two-run single Saturday, leading the New York Mets to a rain-plagued 5-1 win over Houston.

The contest at New York's Citi Field was delayed by rain nearly 2 1/2 hours in the top of the sixth.

The hit, one of two by Tatis, put New York up 4-1 with two outs in the fifth.

Josh Thole had two hits and one RBI.

Anderson Hernandez hit an RBI double, while Daniel Murphy added two hits for the Mets, who have won two straight.

Winner Pat Misch (3-4) yielded a run and five hits in five innings.

Closer Francisco Rodriguez, the last of five New York pitchers, earned his 35th save by retiring the last batter.

Houston's run scored on Miguel Tejada's third-inning sacrifice fly.

Lance Berkman had two of the seven hits for the Astros, who have lost four of five.

The losing pitcher was starter Yorman Bazardo (1-3).
