
CHICAGO, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- Reed Johnson and Geovany Soto drove in two runs each Saturday, pacing the Chicago Cubs' 5-0 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Soto's two hits were an RBI double in the bottom of the fourth and an RBI infield single in the sixth. Johnson's two-run fourth-inning triple was his only hit.
Tyler Colvin added sixth-inning RBI triple for the Cubs, who broke a three-game losing streak.
Winner Randy Wells (12-10) gave up three hits in seven innings with a walk and 10 strikeouts.
Relievers Esmailin Caridad and Carlos Marmol pitched hitless and scoreless eighth and ninth innings.
Three batters had one hit for the Diamondbacks, who rolled to a 12-3 win on Friday, but have lost four of five.
Losing pitcher Daniel Cabrera (0-6) surrendered three runs and four hits in five innings.
