PROVO, Utah, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- Max Hall threw for three touchdowns Friday, Harvey Unga ran for 118 yards and No. 21 Brigham Young defeated Utah State 35-17.
Hall completed 16-of-23 passes for 218 yards and was intercepted twice.
After the Aggies took an early 7-0 lead, Hall tied the game with a 6-yard throw to Dennis Pitta at the end of a 19-play, 78-yard drive. Hall's 48-yard scoring pass to Luke Ashworth in the first minute of the second quarter gave BYU the lead for good.
The Cougars built a 21-7 halftime advantage and pulled away in the fourth quarter on an 8-yard touchdown run by Unga and a 13-yard scoring throw from Hall to Pitta.
Despite the win, BYU turned the ball over three times overall and was flagged for 110 yards worth of penalties.
