PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 1 (UPI) -- Miguel Tejada drove in three runs Thursday, two of them with a sixth-inning homer, and the Houston Astros held on to defeat Philadelphia 5-3.
Tejada hit safely in his 18th straight game, helping give the Astros their second victory in their last 12 road games.
Felipe Paulino (3-11) gave up a run on six hits in five innings to pick up his first victory since June 27. He had been 0-7 in his last 10 starts.
Philadelphia remained stuck on 92 victories, one fewer than the Los Angeles Dodgers and one more than St. Louis. The top two teams will have home-field advantage in the opening round of the playoffs next week.
Cliff Lee (7-4) took the loss, surrendering four runs on seven hits in 5 2/3 innings.
Houston took a 5-1 lead into the bottom of the ninth, but Pedro Feliz doubled home two runs and the Phillies had runners on first and third with two out before Miguel Cairo flied out to center to end the game.
