NEW YORK, Oct. 1 (UPI) -- Long-time Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning Thursday was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Month for September.

The 12-year veteran completed 66-of-96 passes for 983 yards, seven touchdowns and two interceptions. He also became the franchise's top winner at the position with 120 victories, surpassing the late Johnny Unitas, who had 118.

Also named to monthly AFC honors were Cincinnati end Antwan Odom (defense) and Denver place-kicker Matt Prater (special teams).

Prater made 7-of-9 field goal attempts, including all three from 40-plus yards (48, 50, 48) and five extra-point attempts. His 50-yard field goal against Cincinnati Sept. 13 was the sixth in his career from at least 50 yards.

Odom compiled a league-high seven sacks with 16 tackles. The six-year veteran from Alabama needs two sacks to better his career-high eight made the 2007 season.
