DALLAS, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Jeff Cunningham scored in the 71st minute Wednesday to give FC Dallas a 1-0 Major League Soccer victory over New England.

It was the 16th goal of the season for Cunningham, tops in MLS.

Dallas (9-12-6) has won three of its last four matches by a combined score of 12-6. Its 45 goals through 27 games leads the league.

Cunningham's goal kept the slim Dallas playoffs hopes alive, moving the Hoops within five points of a post-season spot.

The Revolution (10-9-7) have just one win in their last five matches and are in third place in the Western Conference.
