Jones-Drew leads AFC's top weekly players

NEW YORK, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Jacksonville's Maurice Jones-Drew is the AFC's Offensive Player of the Week after gaining 147 total yards last week against Houston.

It was the second career Player of the Week Award for the four-year veteran running back from UCLA.

Jones-Drew scored three touchdowns on 23 carries for a season-high 119 yards, helping the Jaguars beat the Texans 31-24.

His 61-yard second-quarter touchdown run was the Jaguars' longest play since Dec. 23, 2007 and he added four receptions for 28 yards.

He was joined in the AFC by Baltimore linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo (defense) and New York Jets linebacker Jason Trusnik (special teams).

Ayanbadejo had six tackles, one interception and one sack in the Ravens' 34-3 win over the Cleveland Browns.

The interception was the second in his seven-year NFL career.

Trusnik made two tackles and helped force two turnovers in the Jets' 24-17 win over the Tennessee Titans.
