VIRGINIA WATER, England, Sept. 28 (UPI) -- Phil Mickelson's Tour Championship title returned him to the No. 2 spot in the men's world golf rankings released Monday.

Mickelson shot a 65 Sunday that erased a 4-shot deficit and won the tournament, the final installment in the PGA's FedEx Cup playoffs. Mickelson slipped past Steve Stricker to retake the No. 2 ranking. Stricker is No. 3.

Tiger Woods finished second to Mickelson Sunday but still claimed a series of big prizes. He remained No. 1 for the 225th consecutive week after taking the FedEx Cup and the $10 million prize that goes with it.

Paul Casey remained in fourth in the rankings but Kenny Perry, who led the Tour Championship going into the final round, switched places with Henrik Stenson, taking over the No. 5 spot after opening the week sixth. Padraig Harrington and Sergio Garcia also swapped spots, with Harrington now seventh and Garcia, who opened the year at No. 2, eighth.

Jim Furyk is ninth and Geoff Ogilvy is 10th this week.
