ST . PETERSBURG, Fla., Sept. 28 (UPI) -- Pat Burrell drove in the deciding run in the eighth inning Monday to give the Tampa Bay Rays a 7-6 victory over the Baltimore Orioles.
Willy Aybar hit a three-run homer for the Rays, who have won seven of their last 10 games. Gabe Kapler, Ben Zobrist and Evan Longoria had solo homers for Tampa Bay.
Lance Cormier (3-3) worked one relief inning for the win.
Brian Roberts hit a two-run homer and Melvin Mora drove in two runs for the Orioles, who suffered their 11th consecutive defeat.
Chris Ray (0-4) was charged with the game-winning run, scored by Zobrist, who started the eighth with a double, advanced on B.J. Upton's grounder and scored on Burrell's deep fly to left-center.
