Tommie Harris' wife dies

ATLANTA, Sept. 28 (UPI) -- Jair Jurrjens pitched seven scoreless innings and Chipper Jones homered Monday to pace the Atlanta Braves to a 4-0 win over the New York Mets.
Jurrjens (14-10) scattered five hits and a walk in the Braves' seventh straight victory, which kept Atlanta in the NL playoff picture. The Braves are two games behind Colorado in the wild-card race and within four games of first-place Philadelphia in the NL East with six games remaining.
Jones hit a solo homer off Anibal Sanchez (3-8), who walked eight and gave up three runs and two hits in five innings.
Florida has lost five of eight and is one loss -- or one Colorado win -- away from being mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.
