BUCHAREST, Romania, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- Spain's Albert Montanes outlasted Juan Monaco of Argentina for a hard-fought two-set victory Sunday in the title match of the Romania Open in Bucharest.

Tiebreakers decided both sets. Montanes, who was seeded No. 5, won 7-6 (7-2), 7-6 (8-6).

Monaco was seeded No. 3.

"I'm very happy with how the whole week has gone and I'm very happy as well to win the title here," Montanes said.

Montanes' win was his second this year on the ATP tour. He also won the Estoril Open in May.
