MLS: San Jose 2, D.C. United 1

WASHINGTON, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- Ramon Sanchez and Ryan Johnson scored second-half goals for San Jose Sunday, rallying the Earthquakes to a 2-1 Major League Soccer win over D.C. United.

The two goals erased a 1-0 D.C. lead provided by Jaime Moreno, who notched his eighth goal of the season.

The result left the Earthquakes with a record of 6-12-7 and D.C. at 8-7-12. Both teams are still in contention for playoff berths.

In their next games San Jose plays New York and D.C. takes on Chivas USA, both on Saturday.
