BRIDGEVIEW, Ill., Sept. 27 (UPI) -- Brian McBride scored in the 78th minute Saturday, lifting Chicago into a 2-2 Major League Soccer tie with Toronto FC.

McBride's seventh goal this season was helped by Justin Mapp's header (pass) and erased a one-goal deficit.

With the victory, the Fire (16-6-11) stayed in second place in the Eastern Conference, five points behind the first place Columbus Crew.

They shared the three points because of the tie.

Nick Garcia scored the Fire's first goal in the 14th minute.

Chicago's Logan Pause, Peter Lowry and Calen Carr all failed to convert late scoring chances.

Toronto's goals were scored by Dwayne De Rosario in the sixth minute and Chad Barrett in the 46th.

The Reds (9-10-8) suffered a 2-0 loss to the Fire on May 16.
