
ARLINGTON, Texas, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- Marlon Byrd's two homers and five RBI Saturday led Texas to a 15-3 rout of Tampa Bay.
He hit a solo homer in the bottom of the fourth and his grand slam started an 11-run fifth.
Josh Hamilton had two hits -- one a three-run double -- and four RBI.
David Murphy had two hits and two RBI.
Ian Kinsler hit a solo homer.
Ivan Rodriguez had three hits and one RBI.
Julio Borbon had two RBI, while Chris Davis had four hits for the Rangers, who trail Boston by six games in the American League wild-card chase.
The winner was starter Kevin Millwood (12-10).
Tampa Bay's Gregg Zaun hit a solo homer.
Two others had one RBI, while Jason Bartlett and Carl Crawford had two hits each for the Rays, who have lost three of four.
The losing pitcher, despite eight strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings, was starter Matt Garza (8-11).
