SINGAPORE, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- Pole winner Lewis Hamilton easily won Sunday's Formula One Singapore Grand Prix.

The defending F1 champion led all but one of the auto race's 61 laps Sunday night.

The McLaren driver won for the second time this season and the 11th time in his F1 career.

He experienced trouble with his car's Kinetic Energy Recovery System early in the race but his crew fixed the power-boost system quickly after a radio conversation.

"The race was physically very tough for all the drivers, but it was actually quite straightforward for me," he said. "I made a good start and I knew I was running longer than the guys behind me."

Timo Glock (Toyota) and Fernando Alonso (Renault) finished second and third, respectively.

In the updated standings, Jensen Button (84 points) leads Rubens Barricello (69) and Sebastian Vettel (59) with three 2009 races left.
