DANVILLE, Calif., Sept. 26 (UPI) -- Women's world No. 1 Lorena Ochoa shot a 7-under 65 Saturday to tie Sophie Gustafson for the third-round lead of the CVS/pharmacy LPGA Challenge.
Gustafson, who led after the first two rounds, had a 66 Saturday and she and Ochoa share a six-stroke lead at 16-under 200. They missed the 54-hole scoring record by a single stroke.
Angela Stanford and Sun Young Yoo both had 69s Saturday and share third place at 206.
Gustafson looked as though she was going to run away with the title on the front nine. She made four birdies in a five-hole span and built her lead to four strokes with a birdie on the 10th. But Ochoa played the final seven holes in 5-under to close the gap.
Leta Lindley (66) moved into a share of fifth at 207 with Maria Hjorth (72), Paula Creamer (69) and Morgan Pressel (67).
