COL FB: South Florida 17, Florida St 7

TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Sept. 26 (UPI) -- B.J. Daniels passed for 215 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 126 yards Saturday to lead South Florida to a 17-7 upset of No. 25 Florida State.

Daniels completed only 8-of-21 passes and threw two interceptions, but he had two completions of over 70 yards in the Bulls' (4-0) victory. It was the first career start for the redshirt freshman, who replaced the Big East's all-time leader in total offense, Matt Groethe, who tore the ACL in his right knee last week.

Theo Wilson caught a 77-yards pass to set up a touchdown and Sterling Griffin had a 73-yard TD catch. Craig Marshall had two sacks for the South Florida defense, which had five sacks overall and has now allowed just 27 points this season.

Christian Ponder completed 25-of-37 passes for 269 yards, but Florida State (2-2) committed four turnovers -- all fumbles -- in the loss. The Seminoles rushing attack was held to just 19 yards.
