
OAKLAND, Calif., Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Brett Anderson limited the Rangers to three runs and six hits in 5 2/3 innings Thursday, leading Oakland's 12-3 rout of Texas.
Anderson (11-10) did not walk a batter and fanned six in 90 pitches. Relievers Brad Ziegler and Jerry Blevins completed the six-hitter.
Eric Patterson had two hits and three RBI, Cliff Pennington hit a two-run seventh-inning triple and Adam Kennedy had three hits and one RBI. One of two hits by Jack Cust was a solo homer, while a run scored on a third-inning throwing error by Elvis Andrus for the Athletics, who forged a four-game series split with Thursday's victory.
David Murphy and Chris Davis led Texas with RBI singles. A run scored on Pennington's first-inning throwing error and five others had one hit for the Rangers, who have lost eight of 11.
The losing pitcher was starter Scott Feldman (17-6).
