McNabb, Westbrook miss Eagles practice

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- The Philadelphia Eagles went through practice Wednesday without quarterback Donovan McNabb and running back Brian Westbrook.

The team's top offensive players continue to recover from injuries -- McNabb a broken rib and Westbrook a "slightly sprained ankle."

McNabb was hurt in Philadelphia's season-opening 38-10 win over Carolina on Sept. 13, and was inactive last Sunday when the Eagles were trounced 48-22 by the New Orleans Saints.

Coach Andy Reid told the Philadelphia News Wednesday he "would take into account the Eagles' bye week when deciding about whether to let McNabb play."

They play Kansas City this week before a bye in Week 4.

Westbrook suffered a right ankle sprain against the Saints while gaining 52 yards on 13 attempts.

"Right now, it's a little tender and sore," Westbrook said, adding he hoped to play against the Chiefs.

Convicted dogfighter Michael Vick is eligible to play Sunday and will be the team's No. 3 quarterback behind expected starter Kevin Kolb and No. 2 Jeff Garcia.
