NEW YORK, Sept. 22 (UPI) -- Yunel Escobar hit a two-run single Tuesday to lead the Atlanta Braves to a 3-1 victory over the New York Mets.
Jair Jurrjens (13-10) matched his career high in wins, set last season, by limiting the Mets to five hits and one run over seven innings. Jurrjens is 4-0 in five meetings with New York this season.
Rafael Soriano earned his 25th save of the season with a scoreless ninth.
Escobar also doubled and scored an insurance run in the ninth on Adam LaRoche's base hit. Martin Prado collected a pair of singles and scored for Atlanta, which has won 10 of its last 12 games.
Nelson Figueroa (2-7) was charged with two runs on only two singles with three walks and five strikeouts.
Luis Castillo had two hits and drove in the lone run for New York, which has dropped eight of its last 10 games.
