
PITTSBURGH, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- Chase Headley was 5-for-6 and drove in the go-ahead run during a five-run 11th inning Monday in the San Diego Padres' 11-6 victory over Pittsburgh.
Headley hit a home run and had two RBI for the Padres. Adrian Gonzalez and Nick Hundley hit two-run homers, while Hundley and Oscar Salazar had three RBI apiece for San Diego.
Sean Gallagher (3-2) pitched a scoreless 10th inning to earn the win.
Andrew McCutchen and Ronny Cedeno each drove in two runs for the Pirates.
Jeff Karstens (3-5) took the loss after giving up five runs and three hits while recording only one out.
With runners on first and second and one out in the 11th, Headley hit a double off the right-field wall to score Everth Cabrera. Will Venable was walked before Salazar's double to left scored two more runs.
