
MILWAUKEE, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Yovani Gallardo teamed with three relievers on a five-hit shutout Sunday, leading the Milwaukee Brewers to a 6-0 rout and a three-game sweep of Houston.
Gallardo (13-12) yielded three hits in five scoreless innings with three walks and seven strikeouts.
Relievers Carlos Villanueva, Chris Smith and Mike Burns completed the shutout, giving up two hits in the final four innings.
Jody Gerut led Milwaukee with three hits -- one a solo homer -- and two RBI. Corey Hart hit a two-run homer, Prince Fielder had a solo shot and Ryan Braun had two hits for the Brewers, who extended their winning streak to five games.
Five batters had one hit apiece for the Astros, who have lost seven straight.
The losing pitcher was starter Felipe Paulino (2-10).
Houston has been shut out 12 times this season.
