
PHOENIX, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Ubaldo Jimenez limited Arizona to a run and five hits in seven innings Sunday, keying a 5-1 Colorado Rockies' victory.
Jimenez (14-11) struck out eight in 122 pitches and the Diamondbacks stranded seven base runners.
Jason Giambi's two-run homer gave Colorado a 5-1 lead with two outs in the top of the eighth.
Giambi had two hits, while Yorvit Torrealba and Clint Barmes had two hits and one RBI apiece for the Rockies, who lead San Francisco by 4 1/2 games, Florida by five and Atlanta by 5 1/2 in the National League wild-card chase.
Starter Dan Haren drove in a run with a second-inning single for the Diamondbacks, who have lost three of four.
Haren (14-9), the losing pitcher, surrendered five runs and eight hits in eight innings with two walks and seven strikeouts.
