Tommie Harris' wife dies

CHICAGO, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Carlos Quentin went 2-for-4 and Jake Peavy performed in five innings during his first game with the White Sox, as Chicago beat the Kansas City Royals, 13-3.
Peavy (1-0), acquired from the San Diego Padres, gave up three runs on three hits with five strikeouts and two walks Saturday.
Paul Konerko went 2-for-3 with a homer, three runs scored and two runs batted in for the White Sox.
Dusty Hughes (0-1) gave up four runs on five hits with five strikeouts and four walks to take the loss.
Hughes replaced Kyle Davies in the rotation. Davies had been scheduled to start but was scratched after a minor injury.
