
BOSTON, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Jason Bay and Jacoby Ellsbury hit solo homers Sunday, boosting the Boston Red Sox in a 9-3 rout of Baltimore and a three-game sweep.
Ellsbury had three hits and three RBI.
Bay finished with two hits and three RBI.
Mike Lowell hit a two-run single.
Victor Martinez had two hits and one RBI, while two others had two hits for the Red Sox, who have won nine of 10 and have extended their American League wild-card lead over Texas to eight games.
Winner Daisuke Matsuzaka (3-5) gave up three runs and eight hits in 5 1/3 innings.
Baltimore's Luke Scott hit a two-run homer.
Michael Aubrey had one RBI, and Matt Wieters had three hits for the Orioles, who have lost four in a row and six of eight.
The losing pitcher was starter Jason Berken (5-12).
