NFL NFC Championship Game Philadelphia Eagles at Arizona Cardinals

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Philadelphia quarterback Donovan McNabb sat out the Eagles' 48-22 loss to the New Orleans Saints Sunday after going on the inactive list with a fractured rib.

Backup Kevin Kolb made his first NFL start in place of McNabb and passed for 391 yards and two touchdowns with three interceptions.

McNabb was hurt in a 38-10 Eagles win over Carolina Sept. 13 and has not practiced since then.

Jeff Garcia was Kolb's backup against the Saints. The Eagles signed Garcia Monday.
