COL FB: Penn State 31, Temple 6

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., Sept. 19 (UPI) -- Evan Royster racked up 134 of Penn State's 186 rushing yards and scored a touchdown Saturday as the No. 5 Nittany Lions topped Temple 31-6.

Penn State also got two scoring passes from Daryll Clark, who completed 16-of-26 for 167 yards. Derek Moye and Mickey Shuler snared the TD passes.

Stephfon Green scored for the Nittany Lions, who are 0-3 in non-conference play and meet Iowa in their Big Ten opener next Saturday.

Vaughn Charlton completed 15-of-33 passes for 205 yards for the Owls (0-2). Joe Jones caught for of them for 75 yards.

Temple's points came on a pair off Brandon McManus field goals.

Penn State has beaten Temple 27 times in a row since they played to a 7-7 tie in 1950.
