Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

VIENNA, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- Benn Barham overcame a double bogey Saturday and forged a three-stroke lead after three rounds at the Austrian Open golf tournament in Vienna.
The Englishman shot 4-under-par 67 Saturday at the Fontana Golf Club. Barham's 54-hole total, 17-under 196, leads Denmark's Soren Hansen (65) heading into Sunday's fourth and closing round where he could be a wire-to-wire winner in his first victory on the European Tour.
"I'm playing as good as I have all year," Barham said. "I have to play the course. If I continue to do that, hopefully I won't have to worry (Sunday)."
Australia's Richard Green (69), the 2007 champion, is 13-under 200, alone in third, one shot better than South Africa's Louis Oosthuizen (65).
