Wozniak reaches Bell Challenge quarters

QUEBEC CITY, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Aleksandra Wozniak, seeking the first tournament triumph in her six-year career, reached the quarterfinals Thursday at the Bell Challenge.

Wozniak, seeded third, defeated Regina Kulikova 6-2, 7-5 to set up a quarterfinal meeting with Alla Kudryavtseva.

The only other seeded player in action Thursday was No. 4 Lucie Safarova, who was a 6-2, 6-2 winner over Valerie Tetreault.

Qualifier Lilia Osterlog advanced with a 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 decision over Amra Sadikovic and

Bethanie Mattek-Sands defeated Vania King 6-3, 6-3.
