
CINCINNATI, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Brett Carroll's pinch-hit RBI double capped a four-run ninth Friday, boosting the Florida Marlins to a 4-3 win over the Cincinnati Reds.
Before Carroll's game-winner, Jorge Cantu and John Baker sandwiched run-scoring singles around an RBI groundout by Dan Uggla.
The rally erased a 2-0 Florida deficit.
Cantu had two of the nine hits for the Marlins, who have won three of four.
The winner was Brendan Donnelly (3-0).
Closer Leo Nunez gave up a pinch-hit solo homer to Juan Francisco before earning his 23rd save.
Drew Sutton and Joey Votto had two hits and one RBI apiece for the Reds, who had won four in a row.
The losing pitcher was Francisco Cordero (2-6).
Cincinnati starter Homer Bailey surrendered three hits in seven scoreless innings with two walks and eight strikeouts.
