CNN suspends Martin for Super Bowl tweets

CHICAGO, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- Alex Escobar had a career game with four hits, three RBI and two runs scored Wednesday, leading Milwaukee past the Chicago Cubs 9-5.
Escobar was playing in his 34th major league contest, all but four of them coming this year. He doubled in one of Milwaukee's two runs in the second and scored the other. He also had a two-run single in the third and scored on Cory Hart's two-run base hit in the fifth.
Milwaukee put its lead-off batter on base in each of the first five innings en route to a 9-2 lead.
Braden Looper (13-6) got the win despite giving up five runs on nine hits over five innings. The loss went to Rich Harden (9-9), who was touched for five runs on five hits in three frames.
