
CHICAGO, Sept. 17 (UPI) -- Jody Gerut's go-ahead grand slam Thursday propelled the Milwaukee Brewers to a 7-4 victory against the Chicago Cubs.
Gerut's only hit, his seventh homer this season, erased a 2-1 deficit with two out in the top of the fourth inning.
Mike Rivera hit a two-run double and Mike Cameron a sacrifice fly for the Brewers, who have won five of seven.
Winner Dave Bush (5-7) gave up four runs and eight hits in 5 2/3 innings. Closer Trevor Hoffman pitched a 1-2-3 ninth, earning his 33rd save.
Chicago's Micah Hoffpauir hit a pinch two-run double, Jeff Baker drove in one run and a run scored on Derek Lee's first-inning, double-play groundout.
The losing pitcher was starter Randy Wells (10-9).
The Cubs have lost two straight after winning seven of eight.
