INDIANAPOLIS, Sept. 17 (UPI) -- The Indianapolis Colts will be without wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez two months because of sprained right knee ligaments.

The Colts' first-round draft pick in the 2007 NFL draft out of Ohio State was hurt late in the first quarter of Sunday's season-opening 14-12 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

He was expected to become a big-play receiver for star quarterback Peyton Manning after aging Marvin Harrison was waived in the off-season.

"Anthony was coming off the field and couldn't put any pressure on (his right leg)," team owner Jim Irsay told The Indianapolis Star while describing the play. "I'm thankful it wasn't worse."

The Colts signed free-agent wide receiver Hank Baskett Thursday to fill their roster absence.

Baskett was released by Philadelphia this week to make room for quarterback Michael Vick.
