Tommie Harris' wife dies

ST. LOUIS, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- Cody Ross had three hits and two RBI Wednesday, sparking Florida's 5-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.
Ross hit RBI singles in the top of the first and eighth innings, respectively.
Dan Uggla, John Baker and Jorge Cantu each drove in a run for the Marlins, who won twice in the three-game series to maintain their faint National League wild card hopes.
Winner Josh Johnson (15-4) surrendered a run and nine hits in six innings with no walks and five strikeouts. Leo Nunez earned his 22nd save by retiring the last two batters in the bottom of the ninth.
Albert Pujols and Julio Lugo drove in runs for the slumping Cardinals, who have lost five of six.
The losing pitcher was starter Joel Pineiro (14-11).
