Rangers 3B Young back after out two weeks

Published: Sept. 15, 2009 at 7:39 PM

ARLINGTON, Texas, Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Michael Young was in the Texas Rangers lineup Tuesday against Oakland after being out two weeks with a strained left hamstring.

Young was injured when he grounded out to end the third inning in the second portion of a doubleheader on Sept. 1.

Normally playing third base, Young was the designated hitter Tuesday. He admitted prior to the game that he is not yet at full strength and is taking a risk by coming back to the lineup so soon.

An All-Star this season, Young is batting .322 with 22 homers and 67 RBI in 129 games.
