VIRGINIA WATER, England, Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Tiger Woods extended his streak as the world's top-rated golfer to 223 consecutive weeks following his 8-stroke win at the BWM Championship outside Chicago.

Woods took control of the tournament with a course-record 62 Saturday. The victory was the 71st of his PGA career, which is third best all-time on the PGA victory list. He trails Sam Snead, who won 82 times, and Jack Nicklaus, who had 73 wins. He has been No. 1 for the last 223 weeks and 565 weeks overall.

Woods has 16.042 average ratings points, which is double the 7.944 of No. 2-rated Steve Stricker. Phil Mickelson (7.54) remained in third and Paul Casey (6.478) is fourth.

Henrik Stenson and Kenny Perry switched places, with Stenson now fifth and Perry in the sixth spot. Sergio Garcia held onto his No. 7 ranking, and Padraig Harrington went from ninth to No. 8 after tying for sixth at the BMW.

Jim Furyk, who tied with Marc Leishman for second, got back into the Top 10, going from 12th to ninth this week. Geoff Ogilvy fell from eighth to 10th.
