PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Philadelphia quarterback Donovan McNabb will miss at least one day of practice because of a rib injury but may play in the Eagles' next game.
McNabb was injured Sunday in the third quarter of the Eagles' 38-10 win over Carolina. He was diagnosed with a fractured rib.
"This one's displaced a little bit and pretty painful," Eagles Coach Andy Reid said Monday of the injury.
"(McNabb) is sore. He's going to try to do everything he possibly can to play this week. We'll see how it goes."
Reid said Kevin Kolb would work with Philadelphia's first-term offense in practice Wednesday as McNabb's condition is evaluated. The coach didn't say McNabb was definitely out for Philadelphia's home opener Sunday against New Orleans.
The Eagles have two quarterbacks -- McNabb and Kolb -- on their active roster. Michael Vick will become eligible to play the third week of the season.
McNabb, 32, is in his 11th NFL season, all with Philadelphia. He is a five-time Pro Bowl selection and has passed for 196 touchdowns in his career.
