MLB: Phil. 1, N.Y. Mets 0 (2nd game)

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Pedro Martinez and Ryan Madson combined on a seven-hit shutout Sunday and Philadelphia beat the New York Mets 1-0, capping a doubleheader sweep.

Martinez (5-0) gave up the six hits in eight innings against his former team with two walks and seven strikeouts in 130 pitches.

Madson gave up a hit in the ninth, but earned his eighth save without allowing up a run.

The game's lone run scored on Chase Utley's first-inning single.

Shane Victorino and Pedro Feliz also had one hit for the Phillies, who have won three of four.

Brian Schneider and Anderson Hernandez had two hits apiece for the Mets, who have lost three of four.

Losing pitcher Tim Redding (2-6) gave up a run and just three hits in six innings.
