DETROIT, Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Aubrey Huff hit a three-run homer in the ninth and Brandon Inge scored on an error in the 10th Monday to help Detroit beat Toronto 6-5.
Huff hit his second home run since joining the Tigers in mid-August and Ryan Raburn also homered and drove in two runs for Detroit.
Detroit starter Justin Verlander gave up five runs and 10 hits in seven innings while striking out nine. Bobby Seay (6-3) earned the victory for recording the final out of the 10th.
Adam Lind hit a three-run homer, and Edwin Encarnacion added a solo shot in a five-run sixth for Toronto.
Toronto's David Purcey made his first appearance since April 27 and allowed two runs, five hits and four walks in 5 2/3 innings. Brian Wolfe (1-2) took the loss after allowing the game-winning run.
