MLS: Columbus 2, Houston 1

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- Eddie Gaven's penalty kick in the 91st minute Sunday gave the Columbus Crew a 2-1 win over the Houston Dynamo in Major League Soccer.

The penalty was called during stoppage time in the match between conference leaders.

Frankie Hejduk scored the Crew's other goal in the first half.

Cam Weaver got the Houston goal in the second half.

Columbus (11-4-9) holds a three-point lead over second-place Chicago in the Eastern Conference.

Houston (11-7-7) leads the Western Conference.
