MLB: Minnesota 8, Oakland 0

MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- Joe Mauer, Orlando Cabrera and Michael Cuddyer each drove in a pair of runs Sunday in the Minnesota Twins' 8-0 victory over the Oakland Athletics.

Mauer hit an RBI single and a solo homer. Cabrera hit a two-run double. And Cuddyer had three hits -- one a two-run single.

Denard Span had two hits and an RBI.

A run scored on Delmon Young's first-inning double-play groundout for the Twins, who avoided a three-game sweep.

Winner Brian Duensing (3-1) scattered eight his over seven innings with three walks and six strikeouts.

Relievers Bobby Keppel and Joe Nathan gave up one hit apiece in the final two innings.

Rajai Davis had three of the 10 hits and Bobby Crosby had two hits for the Athletics, who had won five of six.

The losing pitcher was starter Gio Gonzalez (5-6).
