SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- Vicente Padilla held the Giants to a run and three hits in six innings Saturday, leading the Los Angeles Dodgers in their 9-1 rout of the San Francisco Giants.
Padilla (11-6) walked three batters, fanned five and helped his cause at the plate with an RBI single in the second inning.
Russell Martin's only hit was a three-run homer in the fourth.
James Loney had two hits, one a two-run shot.
Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier had one RBI apiece for the Dodgers, who have won four of five.
San Francisco's run was unearned because of Padilla's third-inning throwing error.
Nate Schierholtz had two of the four hits for the wild-card hopeful Giants, who suffered their fourth loss in a row.
The losing pitcher was starter Jonathan Sanchez (6-12).
