ANAHEIM, Calif., Sept. 13 (UPI) -- Torii Hunter's solo homer Sunday lifted the Los Angeles Angels to a 3-2 win over the Chicago White Sox.
Hunter's lone hit, his 21st homer this season, broke a 2-2 tie leading off the bottom of the seventh.
Maicer Izturis had two hits and one RBI, while two others had one hit for the AL West-leading Angels, who won twice in the three-game series.
The winner was reliever Darren Oliver (5-1).
Closer Brian Fuentes gave up a hit in a scoreless ninth, earning his 41st save.
Both Chicago runs scored on Carlos Quentin's first-inning single.
Gordon Beckham and Paul Konerko had two hits apiece for the White Sox, who have split their last eight games.
Losing pitcher Mark Buehrle (12-8) gave up three runs and five hits in seven innings.
Chicago fell six games behind AL Central-leading Detroit.
