PHOENIX, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Ryan Braun had a two-run homer in the first and doubled home another run in the third Friday, pacing Milwaukee to a 6-3 victory over Arizona.

Milwaukee built a 6-1 lead through five innings and went on to halt a three-game losing streak.

Braden Looper (12-6) got the win, ending a streak of three straight starts in which he had to settle for a no-decision. He gave up three runs on eight hits over 5 1/3. Trevor Hoffman earned his 31st save with a 1-2-3 ninth.
