COL FB: Michigan 38, Notre Dame 34

ANN ARBOR, Mich., Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Tate Forcier threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Greg Mathews with 11 seconds left Saturday to give Michigan a 38-34 win over No. 20 Notre Dame.

The Fighting Irish had overcome an 11-point deficit in the fourth quarter and held a 34-31 lead with 5:13 left after Armando Allen ran for a touchdown and two-point conversion.

The Wolverines (2-0) drove for the winning score, thanks to the freshman Forcier, who completed 23-of-33 for 240 yards passing and two touchdowns. Forcier also ran 13 times for 70 yards and a TD for Michigan. Brandon Minor rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries.

Jimmy Clausen completed 25-of-42 passes for 336 yards and three touchdowns for Notre Dame (1-1). Michael Floyd caught seven passes for 131 yards and a TD before leaving with an injury midway through the fourth quarter. Golden Tate had nine receptions for 115 yards and two TDs.
