
GAINESVILLE, Fla., Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Tim Tebow passed for 237 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 71 yards and another TD Saturday to lead No. 1 Florida to a 56-6 win over Troy.
Jeffery Demps rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown for the Gators (2-0). Chris Rainey ran for 85 yards and a TD. Deonte Thompson caught two touchdown passes and Riley Cooper, Brandon James and Mike Gillislee each caught one.
Levi Brown was 8-of-24 passing for 66 yards with an interception for the outclassed Trojans (0-2). DuJuan Harris led the Trojans' rushing with 44 yards.
Florida's first scoring came with 6 1/2 minutes left in the first quarter on Tebow's 6-yard pass to Thompson. The Gators led only 7-3 at the end of the first quarter but built that lead to 35-3 before halftime.
