T-Wolves get Daniels from Hornets

MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- The Minnesota Timberwolves have picked up veteran guard Antonio Daniels and a future second-round draft pick from the New Orleans Hornets.

Minnesota gave up forward Darius Songaila and guard Bobby Brown.

Daniels, 34, split time with the Hornets and Washington Wizards last season. The 12-year NBA veteran averaged 4.1 points and 2.4 assists in a combined 74 games. In 867 career games, he has averaged 7.6 points and 3.4 assists in stints with Vancouver, San Antonio, Portland, Seattle, Washington and New Orleans.

Songaila played in 77 games for Washington last season, averaging 7.4 points and 2.9 rebounds before being traded to New Orleans in June. The six-year NBA player has averaged 7.0 points and 3.5 rebounds in 410 games for Sacramento, Chicago and Washington.

The Timberwolves obtained Brown from Sacramento in February. In 68 games with the two teams, Brown averaged 5.3 points and 1.7 assists.
