CLEVELAND, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- Marlon Byrd was 4-for-4 and stroked a 3-run seventh-inning homer Tuesday to lead the Texas Rangers to an 11-9 win over Cleveland in Game 1 of a doubleheader.
Julio Borbon hit two home runs and scored three times and Ivan Rodriguez doubled twice and had three RBI. David Murphy homered, scored twice and drove in two runs for the Rangers.
Neftali Feliz (1-0) pitched 1 2/3 innings of relief to get his first major league win in his 13th appearance of the season. He gave up one run and three hits Tuesday.
Starter Tommy Hunter was charged with five runs on eight hits in 5 1/3 innings.
Cleveland's Carlos Carrasco yielded five runs and eight hits in five innings in his second major league start.
Jensen Lewis (2-4) was the loser after allowing one run in 1 1/3 frames of relief.
Travis Hafner was 3-for-4 and homered and Matt LaPorta hit a two-run homer for the Indians.
