WASHINGTON, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- Raul Ibanez hit two home runs and the Philadelphia Phillies overcame a shaky ninth inning by Brad Lidge Tuesday to beat the Washington Nationals 5-3.

The Phillies hit five solo home runs, including three in the seventh inning when Jayson Werth and Ibanez went back-to-back and Carlos Ruiz homered two batters later.

Ibanez and Chase Utley each hit their 30th home runs and joined teammates Werth and Ryan Howard as the only Phillies foursome to hit 30 or more homers in a season. It was the first time in 10 years that the Phillies have hit five solo home runs in a game.

Pedro Martinez (4-0) held the Nats to three runs on seven hits in 6 2/3 innings.

Lidge loaded the bases in the ninth with one out before being pulled.

John Lannan (8-11), winless in his last six starts, was charged with four runs on six hits.
